Mycelium Group International is a new company originally formed to use mushrooms and their mycelial webs to remediate land contaminated by radioisotopes in the Fukushima Daiichi disaster. Now we're expanding to other, non-radioactive, contaminants including pharmaceutical residue, human pathogens, estrogen disruptors, heavy metals, hydrocarbons, high explosive residue, nitrates, pesticides, and herbicides. Paul Stamets is our Chief Scientist and we're currently working with three US National Laboratory sites (PNNL, LANL, LLNL).
